Good morning,

in many threads here I found the recommendation to use a fastboot cable. I have recently rooted my Kindle Fire 2, it works like a charm, but I want to install a "true" Android on it because Amazon changed too many things which are annoying me. It's some kind of an Apple device... ;)

But back to my question. Installing a CustomROM without a fastboot cable seems to be NOT RECOMMENDED (or impossible?)

Therefore: Where in Germany (or Europe) can I get a fastboot cable? Is maybe some kind of other cable known to be compatible?

I can guide you on how to do it without cable, but it's not recommended in case something goes wrong
Bad flash/download etc

You have a red screen of nothing at all? There are plenty of good folks on here who will help you free.

The last things I need are more cables, so I bought an adapter instead which converts your Kindle standard cable to a fastboot cable.. It worked perfectly, managed to brick my KF2 on the first attempt! However, it took a week to arrive by post from the USA to Marseille in France, which was very fast. Shipping is a bit steep, though. Take a look:
