Hi All,

I posted this in the SGS4G section, but feel I may have some luck here..

Is it possible to force data roaming to pick up an ATT 3g signal? I have Tmo but only edge where I live (USA), and for $30/month data edge just isn't going to cut it!

I have messed around with "service mode" to select a specific band frequency, but I either get edge or no service at all.

On a side note, my sgs4g is unlocked and I was able to get 3g when using a straighttalk sim (again ATT signal). Is it possible to get connected when using a Tmo sim?

Another thing I tried was (using my Tmo Sim) editing the APN settings to wap.cingular and THEN using service mode to switch frequencies. Doing this I was able to get the 3G icon, but my browser showed an error "No data connection"

Any Ideas? This could save me a HEFTY E.T.F. .... :/

My sgs4g allows me to select from 850, 900, 1800, 1900 as well as "wcdma" 1700, 1900, 2100. I am pretty sure att is at least one of those frequencies, especially since I got full 3g service with a straighttalk Sim.

When I travel outside of my town (an hour of driving) I can pick up 3g, and in more populated areas I can get 4g. Friends of mine have 3g in my town through ATT (they have ATT service plans), but I can't seem to connect.

I've been reading online that ATT doesn't allow roaming for data from other carrier plans, so I am not sure if this is the true problem or if there is a way to circumvent it..
