PS: In Vietnam, we had some carrier. I test with Mobifone Carrier and it work but when i try with Viettel Carrier it don't work. I don't understand why?

I think the only way that we'll get SMS <80 or MMS to work is if we get hold of someone that knows what they're doing in Korea where the phone comes from.

Or start playing with Kernals and roots.

I guess that when booting up, the phone was not accepting the "sms service" from operator. Or when we click "send", the phone does not contact the operator to send anything.

My phone is E120L with official 4.0.3, not rooted yet.

Only Teamleader knows how to fix but he's busy in some other things or cooking ROM for us

I can send sms via Stock SMS APP (80 charter) but i can't send sms via Go SMS or orther 3rd sms app.
Recommend to ROOT you phone

Guys Don't edit build.prop!

Guys having stock rooted ROMs with SMS issue, could you please test whether the following solution helps:
open /system/build.prop file, and add the line at the beginning:

ro.phone.min_match=7

save the file, reboot. Alternatively, 9 can be used instead of 7.

After editing the file "build.prop" with this additional code

ro.phone.min_match=7

my phone was UNBOOTABLE! same result with the other member. So just in case you'll try to edit it, please be careful. Just to warn you guys.

After bricking my phone because of editing bulild.prop I installed teamleader v1.0 than fc02 stock and upgraded ics from kies.

While upgrading I was successful to grab lates ics firmware of shv-e120k. I uploaded to my dropbox. You can download.

These features are available in AOSP Android. In other words it is available with pure android 4.0 device. Samsung uses its own framework and launcher (Touchwiz). So you do not have these with any samsung phone.

On the other hand this thread seems inactive. Hey guys did you solve the SMS issue??? If yes, please share with me since I still have the sms issue.

Just updated to ICS from TL v1.3 thru Kies. Had an Error phone.com thing but I installed Tegrak recovery and rooted it. Factory reset and everything is great. SMS works fine in the Philippines (80 characters)...but not sure if it'll work when I head back to Cali.

Man.. KIES and windows is the culprit here. I had the same issues. You shouldn't rely on kies to install all necessary drivers. http://i.minus.com/1338748373/Ydp94V4bL4HJMAmfDwWBgw/i03KUpk7DsJOA.exe

and try again. I did that. But on the other hand, why not just use ODIN? Just get proper official firmware and do those wipes. To be absolutely sure, backup your stuff, take out your external sd card, and format the internal memory as well. Otherwise you will probably get errors force closes down the line.

Yeah ICS makes the phone 100 times better...but the SMS is limited. I don't understand why it doesn't update for you. I have the e120s and e120l. I haven't tried updating the e120l cause the SMS might not work.
