question time



hello everyone
i'd been using e120l sinice last feb and did not do any updates but only rooted, its on a team leader 2.3.6 rom

im a bit confused about odin vs cwm
If I want to go for PA (from http://d-h.st/users/Space/?fld_id=0#files ) (is PA CM10 btw?), I can just flash it via odin (with kies installed on my pc) and I will get PA rom and CWM with one flash? Or do I have to do something to put CWM in my e120L, if yes, how do I put CWM in?

now what is the different between cwm and odin? I had a nexus one before and whenever i boot into recover mode its either default recovery or cwm recover, do it mean, if I have cwm flashed, lateron I boot into recovery mode will become cwm recovery? no more Odin mode for the machine? or is it special for samsung?

my understanding now
To upgrade to 4.1 (PA rom) from Teamleader 2.3.6 rom
1> install kies / odin on pc
2> 3 buttons into odin mode
3> unzip PA zip file and flash with odin
4> flash ics modem (cos im from 2.3.6) (but is cwm available after the flash?)
6> flash google apps zip (is it needed?)
5> wipe all, reboot

Subscriber hear an echo...

Hello!My phone is SHV-E120L.
I have a problem with quality of connection.My subscriber hear the echo of his own voice.Very loud echo.I have tried: stock 4.0.4,PA 2.99,CM9,CM10 - all firmwares with this problem...But with stock 2.3.6. and 4.0.3. - conection is fine and without echo.I tried to change mode from LTE prefer,and change only 2G - it doesnt help...
Can somebody help my problem?:(Or maybe give me a link for good stable custom 4.0.3. firmware...

-update-

now i understand odin and recovery is different things (home+down vs up+down), question answered
what i did
-flash the MD5 via odin, CWM6 installed with it too
-flash zips of 11DEC + ICS modem + hapic fix +googleapps zips
-wipe divxxe cache / cache / data + factory reset
-restart

till now it's all right

But one problem, I can't send out any sms
with stock app or handcent sms, both keep 'sending...' then timeout after like a minute
anyone know how to solve the sms issue?

I have e120l hw rev09 die boot can't repair boot by rev06.who user Phone hw 09 can dump aboot and shared it for me. Phone make 20121010. ug31

problem with sms

hi all,

I have problem with sms of this phone (E120S)... I been backtracking this tread for 2 days now and I'm very confuse now where to start.

I read from the post of youngpic48 (june 2012) that there's a solution from seagull...But I don't know, if during that date ICS 4.0.4 was already running.

My phone have the following information:

E120S
4.0.4
Baseband version: SHV-E120S.UH17.1736.ST
Kernel ver: 3.0.8-1045781
Bulid number: IMM76D.UH20

Can you please help me what to do and please provide links.

Begin
Go to Tegrak Maker's Page and download the "Tegrak-Kernel-Build-38-for-SHV-E120S-FD24.recovery.tar" only.
If you don't have it, get Odin3(v1.85) from somewhere.
Go to the Official Home of SuperUser and download Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip.

Click 'Start'. Do not unplug your phone, do not remove the battery from the phone. This should be quick, but may take a minute or two.
Your phone should restart. Allow it to boot fully.
Shut down your phone.
Boot your phone into recovery by holding Volume Up + Volume Down and Power.
Choose to install a zip. You should see the Superuser zip in the list.
Exit/Reboot when it is done.
Your App Drawer should have a 'Superuser' app in it now. Run it and make sure you get the all-clear/busybox.
Congrats, you're now rooted!

Hi, have you tried to install this software? Does 80 characters problem for SMS has been solved?

If yes, how can I install this update? Do I need special application to do this?

There is no 80 characters limit now, I Flashed 4.0.4 yesterday through KIES, took 3 hours, pretty smooth, till now i am not able to root this one.

At first you need to confirm you have a cwm-based recovery installed. If not then you need to find one which can be flashed from odin. Sorry I don't have one, and I can't find any working link for it.

If you have rooted your phone, then you could install a terminal emulator to flash the recovery.

You can get my recovery here: http://alturl.com/i4pqa

And the latest rom here: http://alturl.com/uyew6

Then put the recovery.img to you sdcard, open the terminal emulator, input "su"(without quote, i know you will press enter after each command), locate to your sdcard path(perhaps /sdcard? try "cd /sdcard"), then "ls" to make sure you have recovery.img here.

"dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p22"

Okay, you have touch recovery 6.0.1.5 installed, now reboot to recovery.

Select install from sdcard, choose where you have put the rom(external or internal), locate to the rom, install it!

This is the safest method & I have installed it in the same way on my SHV-E120L

what this line means "At first you need to confirm you have a cwm-based recovery installed", I have installed ICS through Kies.

should i install "recovery.img" through terminal emulator ?, as i am on stock ICS

Hey everyone
The fox v2 also work with Gosms app.
And its came with go lanchuer ex very fast and good. I change it to hebrew also. If you want to install your local languge just install morelocale2 app from the market.

Battery life

Battery life on my SHV E 120S is really weak im on zhinbin99 s3 rom i ve upgraded from foxromV2..!! Give me advice how to improve it...!!
Plus which is the best keyboard app...!!
