Hi,

I have a Note 8.0 which I use most of the features commonly.
Today I got a Tab 3 7.0 for my wife and saw that some features are missing. Is it originally designed like that or do I have to enable some settings ?
  1. Smart cover power on/off
  2. Allshare Cast Dongle Support / Miracast
  3. Multi window
  4. OTG USB (USB Host for 3G, USB memory etc.)

Can I get all or some of these on Tab 3 7.0 ?

With a modified firmware or stock firmware ?

thanks.

Im not too sure but theres been a lil debating about some of these features such as soft keys backlighting multiwindow etc only being availible after the new update maybe 4.2 or like kitkat!

I own a Note 10.1 with multi-window so when I started checking on a replacement for my GTab 7.0 Plus, I scratched the GTab 3 7.0 off my list because it lacks that feature - got the GTab 3 8.0 which has multi-window. It runs JB 4.2.2 but I'm not sure that guarantees that a 4.2.2 upgrade to the GTab 3 7.0 would include that feature.

I don't think that "soft keys backlighting" is achieveable with software because they are actually painted.
But "Allshare Cast Dongle Support" and "Multi window" are sure software features and could be possible with a software update.
Or maybe some developer can port them to Tab 3 7.0 from Tab 3 8.0

no work on that ?

There was a blog that someone phones Samsung about these missing features and he said they will all be availible in then ext big update..... Since the 8" and 10" variants came with 4.2.2 and our 7" came with 4.1.2...... I didnt belive that soft key backlight was a software issue....I guess we'll just have to wait and watch :fingers-crossed::cyclops::rolleyes::rolleyes:

well miracast (or screen mirroring) is a big missing feature...
Well I seriously don't know what Samsung were thinking when they built this ..... LEts give this one a ****ty but reasonable chip that can swipe on homescreen without lag and lets take out functionality of OTG and backlight keys and lets give this one an LCD 1024 x 640 screen an lets take out MulitWindow and MiraCast....Evem though the 8" more or less very similar in tech specs.....:silly:

Samsung had better pull something out of their A55es as if my expectations are not even half met I shall swap this out for a ADvent Vega note 7!!!! if i get the money.... ( .__.)

well, I guess there's not enough community. Because if there was, we would have some nice developer porting those features (multiwindow and miracast) from Tab 3 8.0

Today I realized that OTG is also missing on the Tab 3 7.0.

But it must be rather easy to achieve it with a modded kernel.
Does anyone here know such kernel for T210 ?

Thx.

most probably it is the hardware problem because even after attaching usb device it does not provide power to such usb device.if it has been hardware problem it would have powered up the usb device.
if I'm wrong I will feel haapy.
