Hi guys sorry if this question has been asked before but i cannot find the answer im looking for. I' have searched before you all say anything.

Anyways what i wanted to ask was is it advisable to charge my phone whilst playing games such as gta3 or max payne? When I do my phone gets hot around 42C and my battery actually decreases.

I use sixaxis controller app and controller, plugged in hdmi and ics .453 (xperia s)

I've got a battery monitor app and did some tests with Dead Trigger. The battery info shows it discharging rather charging.

2 possibilities

1. The phone is using more power than what is being supplied. (I'm using the EP850 quick charger)

2. Safety mechanism by Sony. I've (and many others) noticed that once the phone is fully charged at 100%, the battery is still DISCHARGING(with evidence from Battery Monitor Widget) even though the power is still on and battery flashes the lightning bolt. This is to protect the battery life according to Sony.

Maybe somehow they don't want the phone to charge(even though it is not at 100%) while intensive gaming is being done I'm not sure.

Battery life

I've also found that after attempting (!!) to connect my phone using the horrible Sony PC Companion (PCC), and after PCC has told me for the billionth time that there is no phone connected, my battery is shown as discharging even though the PC is connected to my Xperia S with the standard USB cable and no other app running. I think it is yet another "unlisted feature", or "bug", as we real-worlders call it. Overall, I love the phone, hate the support and PC software. :(

+1 however when I connect the phone it seems okay but truthfully ive only connected it for a couple of mins to transfer one or two things, or it was to update and root my phone. So I never noticed this. However I do remember it happening on the arc and arc s.

To be honest I mainly use myphone explorer when connecting my phone to transfer

- Because they're available
- Because it's fun
- (My main reason to do so) Simply because we can!
OK I know that. I asked because if you love games that much and need to charge your phone while playing, quit game from phone and go on your Xbox. As said before you will ruin your battery and phone. People blow PCs PSU's playing games let alone mobiles...

I'm not saying I don't play them on my phone and telling you not to, do as you will its just my opinion.
