It did recognize my phone one time but failed after i hit start (screen shot). phone was not recognized thereafter.

It seems to be an hardware problem. Either cable or usb ports. I suggest using a different usb cable as well as another usb port on your pc.
If that doesn't do it, try to clean your phone's usb port (carefully).
I tried different ports/cables/laptops. nothing seems to work. 20 minutes ago i Tried and Odin detected, the process is running but it is kind of stuck at "zIMAGE" after saying "firmware update start.." i am still waiting that it might walk further.
One more thing i want you to know, i was unable to boot in recovery in recent past. now i tried and it took me to Samsung recovery section. my NORMAL recovery section used to be DEVIL KERNEL's Recovery when my phone was fine.
The Zimage is the kernel. Which firmware are you flashing with Odin?
Ok, it can be "stuck" quite a while before moving forward. I had it take over an hour in the past.
If it still doesn't move after a hour or two, Might wanna give Heimdall a shot (it uses it's own drivers to use a specific usb port for it. Odin won't work on it).
alright.. mind telling me if i'm doing it right? as i told you my phone got stuck in bootloader and wouldn't start. i only know flashing ROMs through recovery, and phone was unable to go in recovery, it did go once and i tried to BACK UP but it failed for unknown reason. now i'm trying it to take it back to stock GB and then will find any other suitable ROM. the odin i'm using tell me is it the one to be used ??
Yeah you have the right Odin. You might have had a corrupt/bad sd problem. But can't really say for now.
Give Heimdall a shot in this case.

No. Something is obviously corrupted and unless you can access a custom recovery, you'll have to flash stock. Which is probably a better idea anyway to start fresh and avoid more problem.

I'm starting to think that you internal is dead. Are you able to access it in recovery (mount)?Kernel upload fail.

sometimes it goes into recovery (samsung recovery) but often it doesn't !Getting in recovery is fine. What you need to test is if you can access your internal sd (mount it to your pc).no
If not, chances are that it's dead. I don't see any other reason for it to refuse the kernel flash.
