Quick noob questions.

1. When using CWM to backup, it all runs fine when it is finished at end it says no internal sd then skipping. Is this normal? Is everything backed up then if it has only apparently backed up the external sd?

2. Using CWM to install CM10 + gapps. Does this modify internal storage in anyway or is it just flashing to the external SD card. Note I am not rooting my device just installing these 2 things. The reason I ask is that I am having issues with device and I'm going to return it, dont want there being any evidence on the device. If there is evidence or files put on device through installing/flashing - how do I remove it?

Question 2 also applies to the new hybrid method by leapinar as I have thinking of using this when I get new device. Note at moment I have just used old method on forums.

Thanks in advance.

1. That message says no external SD, so skipping. Don't worry, it is doing what you need it to do. If you used the CM10 CWM, it backs up the /system and /data files that are on the SD and puts the backup files on the SD media partition. If you used the stock CWM, it backs up /system and /data from internal and puts the backup files on the CWM SD.

2. When you flash the CM10 and gapps, there is nothing put on internal memory. The only thing it does is put a log file on /cache saying you installed CM10. You can go to /cache/recovery in CM10 and delete that last.log file and there would be no evidence you did anything.

As far as the Hybrid, it does install some things to internal memory, but only data. To get rid of that, do an erase and deregister in stock before you turn it in and that will clear it. You should do that anyway any time you exchange your device to get all of your personal info off of there.

Sent from my Nook HD+ running CM10 on SD
