After trying to flash a the new Beta of Cognition my phone wont turn on regardless of what I try, its just a black screen. I was using odin and it kept saying my phone was unplugged from the usb in the middle of the flash so I kept trying to flash it until I couldn't do anything anymore. I am really confused since I have flashed my phone many times and ran into problems but all which were fixable. The computer wont recognize the phone when its plugged in or anything. Please help me I have no idea what to do if I am even able to fix it??? Thanks in advance

Sure sounds like it. Have you tried getting straight into download mode? First time I bricked mine it just went to a black screen no matter what.

Try either of these

Method 2: (KEY COMBO)

1. Remove the battery, sim card, sdcard if you have one
2. Insert the battery
3. Hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power

Method 3: (KEY COMBO)

1. Remove the battery, sim card, sdcard if you have one
2. Insert the battery
3. Hold both Volume buttons (from i9000 just down, don't touch the power button)
4. Plug in the USB cable and continue holding both Volume buttons

Thanks for getting back to me but I've tried both of those already. I was hoping someone might have had this similar problem and found a miracle way on fixing it. Did you just exchange yours at an AT&T store? I figure I could go in a tell them that mine was messed up with update they sent out over the air.

No, I fixed mine. I did have to return 2 other captivates in the past before this one because they use to Auto Shut Down all day long.

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat as you and neither of these methods worked for me either. For a little while i was able to get to download by taking out battery and such, hold down power for 10 seconds, then holding down volume buttons while plugging into the computer. That worked until i was trying to odin back to JF6 and it lost connection while on Filesystem.rfs. Probably gonna end up trying to return mine as well.
