[Q] How can I remove or change the splash screen?

How can I remove the AT&T Splash screen on my Captivate?
This one:

(It looks blue in this picture because my real camera is my Captivate so I had to use a crap camera. This is the white AT&T screen that appears when the phone is first turned on.)

Also, is it possible to remove the splash screen for the ROM? I assume that's what this is:

In my opinion, the rainbow looks kind of girly. If I wanted my phone to be girly I would buy a rainbow/unicorn/fairy silicon skin for it.

I already know how to change the boot animation (which appears after that second image). I just don't know how to change the splash screen(s). I would be okay with swapping them out for another picture but I would really rather just remove the splash images altogether.

I have adb installed (if I need it) and I'm using the ICSSGS ROM (RC1.01).

The first one might (I haven't messed with it for a long while) the boot screen that can be replaced with this video. Though I'm not 100% sure since its been a while since i've changed that. The second one is kernel boot screen so change kernels xD.

I would hold of on the boot splash. That method may not work with ics. As for the kernel splash, nothing you can do without changing kernels, as already mentioned. Unless you want to decompile the kernel, change the image to whatever you want, then recompile it.

Ok, I guess I'll have to hold off on the AT&T splash screen until I get ubm. I can't find the option in Heimdall to let me flash the param_LFS file anyway.

Now I'm going to look for a different kernel (or learn how to decompile/recompile).

Should work on ics...you didn't change bootloaders.

But, you can flash back to stock, swap out the param.lfs THEN flash ics. That would work.
