So i factory reset last night. I debloated and froze all vzw bloat on the list including others that have been known to cause issues. The good news is the phone says it is back on the T-mobile network. We will see how long it lasts. Bad news is that it still appears to have fluctuating signal strength. Would flashing a T-mobile rom help that problem? If anyone has any knowledge or experience with this problem, I would appreciate any insight.

The phone switched back on its own to the at&t network after about two days. Is the Verizon s5 just not completely compatible with the T-Mobile network? I'm really starting to regret buying a Verizon s5. I thought this phone would work at Verizon and T-Mobile and at&t with only setup issues but I guess I was wrong.

Did you find a permanent fix? I am having exact same issue. Can you share your prefixer code that fixed the issue for you?
I tried prefixer as well. I created an action (using the plus button at the bottom) to remove the + from incoming and outgoing calls. So far, this is working for me. Instructions are found in the program.

I am using my Verizon Galaxy S5 on Cricket. Calling fine. I have the APN set up correctly, but I cannot send nor receive MMS. I am running a deodexed VZW ROM. Any ideas?

I was having the same problem and didnt find a solution. I ended up changing my carrier to one that uses the verizon network. I'm happy with the switch. I'm using Page Plus. If you switch to them, make sure to port your number before you switch or it will be a hassle.

Shame on me for not doing more research. I had never had this issue before. If that is the case then I will likely just have to return the phone as I'll not be changing from Cricket at this time. Thanks for the info!

No problem. I suggest flashing the original software or any factory version of the of the android OS for that phone or they might not take it back.
Definitely. Reflashed to stock ROM and sent back. I am just going to spend another 100$ and get the international version of the phone.
