[Q] How do I get started unlocking/rooting/installing MIUI on a stock Atrix?

Hi Everyone. I have a stock Atrix running build 4.5.141 with Android 2.3.6. My device has gotten slower lately and I'm interested in trying out the new version of MIUI (I loved it on my Nexus One). This is my first time attempting to root/unlock/flash the Atrix.

1. What is step one of this process? Should I follow the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871?

2. These directions seem thorough but they are for a previous build of the device. Can I still follow these directions? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600.

First you should root your phone.After you should read this thread…someone unlocked there boot loader on 2.3.6(theres a guide in there as well). Finally install cwm recovery and you'll be set to install miui.
