Unlock Motorola DEFY

Yes, it is simple to unlock your Motorola DEFY. Once your phone is unlock it is unlock for all networks. My phone is DEFY and got the code for USD 21. I got my code from a website called Unlockgenie.com|

I also have one of the Oprah giveaway phones (got it on ebay), and I got the 16-digit unlock code from GSM Liberty for FREE!

It initially cost $25, but after ordering I got an "Order Update" email from them, and noticed this message at the bottom: "Want to Unlock your phone for FREE? Send us a Youtube video of you unlocking your phone or what you think of our service and we'll fully refund your order!" So I replied to the email with a link to a brief youtube video, and they refunded my money within 24 hours.

I don't know if they give that option to everyone, but it's worth a try if you want to save a few bucks.

Based on what I read here, I used swiftunlocks. It cost $17USD, I paid with paypal and I got the unlock code in 12 minutes. The unlock code was 16 digits long and it worked like charm. I love this phone, I hate motoblur.

I ordered from the site and am waiting for the code! I'm from Argentina so its a bit trickier than T-Mobile but I hope I get it today!

Will inform how it goes as soon as I get it for the people interested from latin america.

Hi guys,
sorry for the stupid questions, but I haven't experience on locked phones.
I have bought an unlocked vodafone defy: if I flash on another ROM (one with Froyo posted here on XDA e.g.), I need to unlock the phone again? Or the unlock is permanent ? Or the costum ROMs are unlocked?

Many thanks!

Network unlocks are permanent. Flashing a different ROM will not re-lock your phone...
