i purchased an unlock code from unlockcodes. com
they sent it via email with not so easy instructions. i found out how to get to where i need by typing in my dialer #073887* and getting a little box saying "sim network unlock pin:" great right? not so.. my code is this long
************* ********** ******** ******** ******** and has numbers and letters.
the first bunch of 15 numbers is my imei the second bunch is my msn
i have tried putting in the third n fourth lot of numbers and failed. my phone will also not let me type in letters.

have i been screwed over?
or am i doin it wrong?

im in australia and my carrier is telstra. naturally it is a motorola defy.

I used switftunlocks.net. I was locked to T-Mobile UK, the code took 2 days to arrive. I entered the 16 digit code and it worked first time. I paid $20 which is £12.20. My phone is now unlocked to Vodafone, Orange and O2. I dont have a 3 sim card atm but will try one as soon as I get hold of one. Brilliant.

i just receved email from swift and they said my code should be 16 numbers. i will email the unlockcodes people and ask for refund and get my code from swift. at least he seems to know what he is talking about.

do not give refunds. i have been badgering them for weeks to give me my money back AFTER they offered it to me. since then daily emails and facebook messages (which they delete ) and i am now trying to warn others .
they may be fast in giving you a code and im finding more often than not it is a wrong one to start with and THEN they offer you upgrade or refund. if you choose refund they forget all about you. its seems to me after reading a lot more into these peope that they offer the cheap $9 unlock code, send the wrong one .offer the upgrade once they have you.

naughty boys and im like a dog with a bone. they will regret messing with me!

Try this guy. Have had 2 phones unlocked by him, "cheap". Depends on the phone. If carriers can't or won't unlock.
