[Q] How do we explain custom ROM in layman term?

Hi,i've came across a few occasion where my friend who know nothing about

custom rom and stuff,

and when they ask me things like "why you phone is capable of this/that" and i

said because i flash to cyanogenmod,they will start scratching their head :confused:

Custom roms simply allow a phone to have better options than stock....just tell your friends rooting is allowing you to access the phones system files and modifying to perform faster and exceed standard stock specifications....kinda think of it as using tweaks on a windows computer....certain tweaks or hacks might change the appearance or overall performance of that system
