I'm wondering what to do about rooting my HTC One Mini, if I was to root my phone what is the best method because I've seen a few different methods such as the one that doesn't require a computer (Framaroot), this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2675455 and I've also seen another method called Root With Restore Bin4ry.

Which would be the best way for me to root it and what would be the chances of bricking the device if anything went wrong? I've backed up some of my important apps etc incase anything goes wrong but if it does then what would I have to do to restore it back?

Thanks

I did it the "classic" way, installed TWRP 2.7.1.1 custom recovery, flashed the SuperSU zip and got the job done.
No issues, no complicated things, very noob-friendly process.

After installing TWRP you can create a backup ( from the main menu, select backup obviously ) called "NANDROID backup" ( it contains everything if you check it to backup everything ).
This way, if you screw things up one way or another, or you don't like the changes you performed, you can "restore" that backup with TWRP and you'll have your phone restored to the very same condition and contents with the time you created the backup :)

Some people have told me to use the tutorial at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2675455 @ Q2 where as others have told me to use this tutorial @ http://htconeroot.com/htc-one-root/how-to-root-htc-one-windowsmaclinux/ and not sure which one to follow. Any ideas, which would you go for?

I went with the Q2 section and was done fast and easily :)
I recently bought another HTC One Mini as a gift to my sister for her birthday, and I did the very same things I did to mine, everything was done once again easily, trouble-free and fast.

I'd go with Q2 any day.

I followed bits from both, some parts are the same and rooted it fine without any issues.
