Sorry for bumping this old topic, i have the same issue.
I have restored nv backup and got my phone network locked, I`ve bought my i9505 in germany and i was network locked for EU only.

Ill try to downgrade all tha way back to MDE fimware, and post the results later...

I know this is a long dead thread, but here is the super simple answer:

Flash MDL ROM
AND
MDL BASEBAND
Now the menu items you seek will be visible.

and before someone asks: No it does not matter what bootloader/baseband/rom you are running before starting this.
nandroid backup
restore when done
odin newest radio back.
Please explain :) Please, please, please, I'm begging you. What "MDL" stands for? And what do you mean by "flash"? Please explain

Hello!

I think there is a very big problem, cause to get off the fu..... sim/network-lock you need to flash an "old" rom(firmware) with
an old baseband(modem) - from 2013. After you flashed the old firmware & modem, you should see the PRESO SHA256 OFF
menue. Also the other method with the RegionLockAway 1.3 app from chainfire should work.

YOU NEED "OLD" STOCK-ROM & BASEBAND!

BUT if you have a new bootloader on the phone, you cannot flash back an old baseband on the phone. You could manipulate the md5-file
and delete the aboot.img, so its possible to flash with odin an old ROM with old BASEBAND- but the baseband will be not accepted, you
will see "unknow baseband" and "no service", means no connection & no service menue.

Means, we are fu.... off :(

I think the bootloader doesnt allow "old" baseband to work or there is a other mechanism in an hidden memory/partition that does not
allow an "old" baseband to get work - it always will says "unknow baseband" and "no service" if you flash an old baseband.

I don't know what we can do, we need to learn more about downgrading bootloaders, flashing nvram and find other hiddem memories on the phone...

SHA256 ON/OFF possibilities / suggestions

I'm struggling to figure it out myself, but from what I've found so far, it would seem there are many variables. I speculate (from what I've found) that not only does the phone need to be rooted but there's some kind of APK you must install which I assume has something to do with your router I guess? Not really sure what your router has to do with unlocking a phone but a decent amount of people online were talking about it. It's all a little complicated for me tbh, I got as far as getting to the SHA256 screen with the same problem of no on or off options. Was gonna try moving on with the process and do the N/V rebuild or whatever it's called, hit the backup option and see what happens. I've also heard it could be as stupid as an update that's been installed to stop people from doing that. Could try factory reset and then try to unlock it before it installs any updates. I'm making keep trying tho and if anyone figures it out let me know the deal.
