Has anyone updated their adus memo pad 7 hd to lollipop? And do U still have root access after the update? Because I'm currently on the stock 4.4.2 android with root via SuperSu, and today I received an OTA for the lollipop update. I'm curious if I may lose root when I update, and how do I retain it back?

LOLLIPOP?!?!?! :) :) :) :) :) :)
You should be fine if you stick with RootZenfone's survival mode. For an added security blanket use SuperSU's survival mode. Worst case scenario temp CWM should be able to reroot.
(Be sure to capture that OTA. My tablet won't update because I modded some frameworks.)
It better be 5.1, otherwise this will be a HUGE train wreck unless we can fix the memory leaks.

Please help me, I'm running the latest update from asus on my me176c tablet and I've tried rooting it with zenfoneroot apk file but it left my tablet on live demo mode because I've read that you're not supposed to root with zenfoneroot apk when you're running the latest update :'(
I've found this site just today but this happened yesterday and I've tried to reset to factory settings, now it still on live demo mode yet the video does not play anymore that's why I can't do the press back buttong for 10 seconds then enter 741603 :(
I've tried deleting APD folder from root but after rebooting it still is the same, and when I find the APD folder after reboot, it is still there :( please someone help me :(

The Device can be rooted with RootZenFone -1.4.2r.
Ah yes, please tell me where I went wrong - all that rootzenfone did for me was installing the Asus Demo mode which then prevented me from ever locking the screen. I found the way to remove it but that then ended in factory resetting the tablet - and after all that I still didn't have root access. Or, if there are any other methods that don't involve rootzenfone, please tell me

That post was from sep 2014.
If you're in version .201 you want rootzenfone ver 1.4.6.4r
Please read the last 3 pages of the thread.

Wifi passwords not being stored in 201

Hi,

after upgrading to version 201 and froze some apps, I'm no longer able to store the wifi password.
If I turn off wifi, or reboot, I lose all the stored passwords.
I already checked the wpa_supplicant.conf and it was full of garbage (same information, over and over again, no ssids, nothing).

Any quick fix? Is it possible to freeze an app that will result in this kind of behavior?

Thanks,

L. Pinho

No app should do that after freezing. I'd delete the wpa_supplicant.conf and reboot. If it still doesn't remember you may have to fiddle with permissions.

Hi jerbear294,

now I made it worst, 1st I checked the permissions, everything is ok (I compared the permissions with another fully working android device).

The only thing strange is the content of the file, the content doesn't make much sense when compared with the standard file (again, comparing to a working device).

I installed and application named "FREE Wifi Password Recover".
I used a function "Reset wifi-settings" and rebooted and now, wifi is not working at all. If I turn it on, if will turn itself off, I never see the wifi icon, so, at this time I can't even turn the wifi on...

EDIT: One file is missing from the wifi directory (data\misc\wifi), the bin file (entropy.bin), I don't know if this file its a personal file, a driver of some sort, but its not in the directory, can anyone get me one from their K013?

Any suggestions?

Can I root if I've encrypted? I've tried several times, and no luck. Maybe that's the reason?
Indeed it was the encryption that was causing trouble. Factory reset my pad, then rooted no problem. Now to figure out how to move some apps properly to SD card.

I use Link2SD to move apps to SD, the newer version even moves obb files :)

Just to add on to this- The system itself can move apps themselves to SD, making that feature of Link2SD redundant. I use FolderMount to move the obbs later.
FolderMount didn't worked for me for several games, FIFA UT, ShadowRun, etc.
Link2SD enables the move to the SD card of applications that are "not movable", so, that is why LInk2DS is not redundant.

The only think that doesn't work are widgets applications
