FolderMount didn't worked for me for several games, FIFA UT, ShadowRun, etc.
Link2SD enables the move to the SD card of applications that are "not movable", so, that is why LInk2DS is not redundant.

The only think that doesn't work are widgets applications
Sometimes you have to mount the app data in FolderMount for it to work. I haven't had any problems with it. If Link2SD works for you then that's fine.

Asus released a Lollipop update!! I downloaded and installed it and I got the No Command problem.

Now it just loops at the Asus boot screen. Volume Up and Power does nothing.

Any ideas how I can hard reset?

It depends on how far the update went. If the bootloader updated there's nothing you can do from what I've seen. There is no way to get into the bootloader or recovery from shutdown as far as I can tell. I was able to get into it via ADB, but in your case this isn't possible.

As far as I know the update was almost complete and was just rebooting. Is there anything else I can try before I try and return it to the retailer?

Battery life seems much improved in Lollipop. I am doing the same things that I normally do on a school day - light browsing, XDA, some games during lunch - and the battery is at 80 percent. Normally at this point in KK it was 70.

I don't think there is.
We can try something however- shut off your device and hold Volume Up and Power. If a screen that says "DROIDBOOT PROVISION OS" comes up after the Asus logo you're good, just follow the unbrick thread instructions. If it just boots into Android, there is nothing you can do as far as I know.

Doing that simply goes to the Asus boot screen. It sits for about 30 seconds then reboots to the Asus boot screen. Have tried the clear utility but nothing happens. Just loops as above. Initially it was saying No Command but isn't doing that any more.

Any blue bars at the bottom indicating anything?

Ok I have a bit of progress. I managed to get it into the recovery thing - while it was at the Asus boot screen I started hitting the volume up button quickly and it entered the boot menu!!

However when I selected Recover it went to No Command.

Any ideas?

Out of interest, when Droidboot starts, down the bottom it says:

FASTBOOT INIT...
E:failed to mount device '/dev/block/sda1' as installer partition using fs_type
ition using fs_type 'vfat'
continue the fastboot process
E:installer device ignored
FASTBOOT CMD WAITING....
E:installer device ignored
E:no valid installer medium found.
Could not open /sys/devices/virtual/backlight

This is normal behaviour.
In recovery hit the center of the volume rocker a few times and some options will come up.

Good news. I have managed to get it back up and running using the tutorial on the thread Unbrick ME176c. However, now that it is running the software update check says there is an internet connection issue or the server is busy.

Anyone know how to get round that?
