[Q] how to root... simply

I know there are threads out there and i read them, just couldnt understand them. im not new to rooting, but have had a few samsung phones and latest was the galaxy nexus, all of which were very easy. I cant make heads or tails of these descriptions that are in the threads. can anyone help me out. i can give you my email, or whatever is easier, just cant deal with not having a rooted phone and dealing with the pesky wifi notification all the time.

Run the exploit that's in the original development section, it is literally just installing and opening an app.

Use the HTC dev site to unlock your bootloader, well once the site stops being screwy.

Install a recovery.

Flash a Rom and kernel if you so choose.
