This is not correct. You can (and should, if you're flashing boot.imgs) flash a ROM from recovery even if you're S-On, as long as your bootloader is unlocked.

my htc not booting

hi guys i saw this post now i have a problem here
my htc desire hd when gets on the logo htc comes and gets darken and i cannot perform hard reset and cant move to recovery mode
so this makes me more complicated for installation of drivers in computer
how can i update this stock rom any one please help me please
