That's not to install recovery. You can install recovery through the ROM manager App. You can get to recovery through the Hboot screen by selecting recovery. It will only ask you to install an update if you are trying to flash a PDXXX.Img.

What update are you talking about ? If you have s off and cwmd installed you can download a ROM of your choseing from within xda and once the down load is finished all you need to do is boot into recovery and wipe data and wipe ceche and scroll down to advanced and once inside you will wipe dalvick ceche and wipe battery stats once that is done scroll down to the bottom and click back and then scroll down to your download folder this is where you will find the ROM your going to install however before you install the new ROM make sure you back up your current ROM just incase somthing go's wrong you can go back to the original ROM you had previously good luck

Hi,

Have you left the PG58IMG file on your sd card?
After installing CWM,you need to remove that file,or else it will keep asking you to update every time you go into hboot.

STEP 2. To INSTALL Recovery - v5.0.0.8

1. Download recovery v5.0.0.8 for the Sensation HERE: or Multiupload
2. Copy the PG58IMG file into the Root folder of your SD card (The main Folder of your Memory Card)
3. Turn off your phone FUlly and reboot into the Bootloader/HBOOT screen (see post above on how to get to hboot screen)
4. Press Volume up to Accept when it asks" Do you want to start the update"5. Press Power Off to Reboot back to android after installation is successful (normal screen with homescreen)
----------------------------------------------------------------
In the post above( in red color, step 4 ) you can see which update I'm talking about.
And also with rom manager everything I'm trying to do, included a update cwm recovery, a window appear saying "an error occurred while atempting to run privileged commands!"
Does anyone know what it means???????
Thanks everyone

Copy the PG58IMG file into the Root folder of your SD card
Do you have the PG58IMG file in your SD card?
It should be
/sdcard/PG58IMG
Then after it updates, you need delete it, otherwise you will keep update and update.

Using ROM Manager to achieve CWM recovery is bullshit since u need cwm to flash the su file in order to gain root. And ROM Manager wont work without root.
Place the PGxxxx file in root of sd, shut down phone, pull/reinsert battery, go into bootloader by pressing volume down+power, when asked for update press volume up. When its done reboot phone normally and u shud be fine.

Remeber to delete the PGxxxx cuz everytime u go into bootloader it wants to apply the Update.
