I don't know if this will help I got the invalid token error the first time I tried to unlock then I read somewhere that the reason you get the error is because of to many characters in the token code
I noticed when you paste the code in there is a space before every line so I backspaced every line to remove the spaces and it worked
Now fully unlocked boot loader

I broke my HTC during battery zero and CWM 5.. So MAYBE it was not really bricked, but I did not try to power the phone with another full battery - I did not have one at that time. So after a lot of attempts to power the phone ON, try to load the battery outside by using 4.5V battery and plug it on the contacts.. No success, still unknown USB driver..

I noticed when phone is rebooted with juice in battery, it goes throught CPU state - with low red light and after finishing this state (for 1sec or so), it goes into the bootloader mode.. So probably the EASY test is to plug some NEW, loaded battery and the PHONE HAS TO POWERON.

If it does not, you're REALLY bricked..

Finally:

I was S-OFF, having not STOCK ROM, HTC gave me another motherboard. They changed it.
So if you're really in bricked state and MB is really KO and you're s-off, the will NOT take a look at it and you should be fine.. Of course, in warranty time..
then........
yes, i'm again soff even after such horrible experience..
what a lucky

stay put guys...no need to sell your awesome hardware (phone) yet

there is a new root exploit..for HTC one X on stock without unlocking bootloader and all ....which might help you guys to root sensation
(did a look in the code seems possible to port it to sensation)

this root exploit might help you ppl..in future unlocking of bootloader...(there is a universal bootloader unlocker..but failing due to tacoroot failure..)

so any one wants to test this new exploit (gives root only)...can pm me...I'll modify the code in one hour or so...and i will not be responsible if you brick your device(there is not a thing which will brick your device while using the exploit though but just in case)

Gutted, been trying for the last week to unlock my bootloader. I got my phone back from repair a week ago yesterday after the screen stopped responding to any touch at all so was replaced. the repair ticket does not mention anything about the MB being replaced but i have the exact same prob. I hope something is sorted soon cause i still have 12 months before i can upgrade and having stock whilst my wife is rocking Coredroid on her sensation is killing me lol

no sorry just looked at the paperwork again and they have changed my motherboard and at the top of the paper it says new imei and old imei.

Don't hold your hopes too high. So far it failed. But there are few more things that need to be tested before confirming that it's a no go. We need testers, so pop in to the IRC channel In my sig. Ganesh007 should be able to walk you through it at some oiint today.

+1 to that
initial tests failed but..its a huge success in HTC-ONE-X forum...so i guess it should be working in your case too..

so now im going to give you the tool
(its not mine..I havent developed it )
i took the tool from this thread and modified it a little bit to support sensation/XE/4G

tool:
DB link -root-sensation-windows

right now this tool supports windows ony

DISCLAIMER:
i wont be responsible if this process bricks your device (which i highly doubt it) ..so run this tool at your own risk

NOTE:
1.first of all you need to make sure that you guys have adb/fastboot setup(if you dont then check this guide)

2.check whether your device is being recognized.
To check this follow the below steps
  • connect your mobile to pc...keep your device in lock screen/home screen
  • open the folder where your adb/fastboot present
  • hold shift + right click on the white space of the folder and click "open command window here"
  • type "adb devices" without quotes...it should show your device serial number
  • that's all your device is attached now

instructions on how to run the tool:

1.Download the zip file i've linked.
2.Extract root-sensation-windows.zip into a directory on your computer.
3.Plug your HTC SENSATION/XE/4G into your computer via USB. Recommended: Plug your device’s
USB cable into the back of your computer if you’re using a desktop PC.
4.Enable USB Debugging on your HTC sensation. Settings >> Develop Options >>USB debugging (checked)
5.Double click root.bat to run the script and wait until it completes. Don't touch the device until it's run completely.
6.if "EVERYTHING DONE..ROOT SUCCESS...ONE FINAL REBOOT NOW" comes in the command windows which pops up after double clicking the root.. Then it's a success.
6.reboot and check the root access via root check basic app.

It should not take more than 3 minutes to run the complete code
If it got halted in the middle.. Please post me back the last print present in the cmd window that poped up after double clicking root file
also after running everything successfully you didn't got root access..then please click on "IRC HELP CHANNEL" in my signature and join the irc..I'll be there mostly and will help you out

PS: i Can't guarantee you 100% success...need to test this tool that's why i'm asking for your help and feedback :D

Root.bat runs fine with success mesage at the end however the handset is still not rooted acording to rootchecker.
ECHO EVERYTHING DONE..ROOT SUCCESS...ONE FINAL REBOOT NOW

After reboot, no root yet. No errors too.

guys seems like the system partition is reverting back to normal after final reboot
I'll give you ppl the modified root.bat file (without final reboot)
get it here ....(currently not stable so removed it)
use that again...and after it runs completely
please dont reboot your device and
can you people check on your device whether it got superuser apk installed or not ?
(also if you found it can you update the binaries of the apk and reboot and see)

Thanks for the feedback guys

Hi,

ran through ok, told me I'm rooted, but didn't work. No superuser installed.
But the phone crashed for the first time in 6 months a few minutes later...

Cheers,
Chaos

Yeah crash might happen as the exploit/will be unstable
When you got that you are rooted(temp) why don't you try installing superuser or SuperSU app from market.. And once you install it then Chk it and reboot

Installing SuperUser from Market didn't help.

I ran the root.bat now several times trying to analyse what's happening.
On the first try I got several "eu.chainfire.su has closed" error messages before the phone rebooted.

After the next try I had the chance to get into Root Checker before reboot, not properly rooted.

Afterwards I connected via adb shell to see what's going on on my phone.
Didn't want to mess around with file explorers to avoid another reboot.
I found SuperUser.apk in /system/app/, but su and busybox couldn't be found in the folder /system/xbin.

Edit: Found su and busybox now, looks like they were hidden...
