from the manual of A3500-HV (which is the pad I have and is pre-installed with 4.4.2 initially, Kernel 3.4.67 and Build A3500HV_A442_01_34_140827_HK), I found that H and HV are using MT8382 Quad Core 1.3GHz, and F and FL with MT8121. Would that make any difference using this procedure to root ? BTW H is data only, and HV is voice enabled.

Actually it is mt6582 in HV the mt8382 is a big lie many company do that to get better sales and not everyone checks the chipsets serial using the app....:p

I keep getting S_COM_PORT_OPEN_FAIL (1013) in the flashtool.
It seems that I fail to install the MTK VCOM driver on my WIN7_64.
I have repeated the VCOM installation procedure using the the VCOM file anandisrocking007 suggested for many times but unfortunately with no luck.
(procedure : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206421)
From what I see under USBDeview, the USB connection is connected for a second, and then broken in the next second. I have tried multiple USB ports and uninstalled any remaining MTK VCOM driver in every retry.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

EDIT: After switching to the following driver, the everything seems the same but the Flashtool works now. I have just flashed the recovery.img. Shall report later.

Re-tested again with 3G network.
All dialing and data functions are fine with this rooting method on my A3500-HV.

I rooted my LENOVO A7-3500H, with 4.2.2. with "root genius" easy. But after that i checked my tablet with avast antivirus say it virus inside my device from rootgenius so i was first deinstall few bloatwares and some unnecesary files,so then i unrooted my device also with rootgenius(it have option inside). Unrooted my lenovo A7-3500H get on first test in antutu benchmark 18.284 points, after root now is 19.444.Now works more fast and stable. So guys, i recommend if u wanna root A7 3500 H/HV (i think its already same process bcz not much different only have have call) use root genius, root it,(very easy),remove bloatwares, unroot it easy and remove virus from tablet and get more faster and stabile device. I Tested 15 days so not have any problems. BTW,i think 4.2.2. is more optimized from 4.4.2 for this device,i was few days also on upgraded 4.4.2, but i was not satisfied.backing to 4.2.2. with SP flashtool.... now all is ok. Best regards...and good luck
