OK, not sure if the issue is with me, my particular handset, the 4.4.2 Stockish ROM/NAB Eng BL, or Android 4.4.2 in general, but several of my normal apps won't download/display images and others are just fine.

For example Snapchat and pinterest work just fine.
Tumblr doesn't work but Stumblr does just fine pulling in the feed images.
Twitter and Tweetcaster don't work but Tweedle has no problem with the feed images.
When I try to download themes in Beautiful widgets I can see the theme titles but not the preview images.

I have read in numerous threads on other sites that 4.4.2 is causing this problem with its design changes and devs are just going to have to adjust. I've also followed all the suggestions of clearing caches, reinstalling, fixing permissions, I even downloaded the latest sqlite3 and pushed it to /system/xbin. but nothing has helped.

Is anyone else experiencing this and does anyone know the cause. Is it something I screwed up and can therefore fix, or must I just be patient until the devs update their apps?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I don't use any of the apps you've referenced, but I think you've answered your own question.

The biggest manufacturer of Android phones just rolled out KitKat to scores of millions of devices worldwide.

I think that the individual apps with which you're experiencing this issue need to step up their game.

Scale sort of drives these things...

Thank you for the quick reply (as you always do :good: )
That's kind of the way I'm leaning, but I did come across one thread on a different board where the user solved the problem by Odining back to unrooted stock. So I figured I'd ask around.
