I was testing various combinations of BBs and RILs because I get terrible battery on GB (stock or CM7, even with Froyo BBs): 3G on drains 3-5%/h in stand by mode. On Froyo I got 1%/h with 3G on. (BTW, what's your 3G drainage on GB with typical apps/features like Facebook and sync installed?)
Then I noticed that when I installed an incompatible RIL and the network went off, the battery reading were incorrect at 100%, event after 30min of usage. After I installed a compatible RIL, I was asked again for the PIN and the battery readings were returned to normal.
My question is: why can't the phone read the battery status with an incompatible RIL? I thought RIL manages radio only. Is this a hint that my device is faulty?
