[Q] Installing CyanogenMod 10.2.1 from Gingerbread 2.3.6 (Is It That Simple?)

Hey, I have a couple of Captivates (currently running Gingerbread 2.3.6). If I want to install CyanogenMod 10.2.1, can I follow this, http://www.androidlegend.com/how-to-update-samsung-captivate-sgh-i897-to-android-4-2-2-via-cm-10-1/ and install directly from the SD Card or do I need to begin with http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_captivatemtd?

Looking at your signature, it appears you have already installed CM 10.2.1. I guess you made a choice and it worked for you.

The biggest difference between the two seems to be that the CM instructions is telling you to put the ROM on the root of your internal SD and the androidlegend instructions put it on the external SD. Which did you follow? When I put CM 9 on my Cappy, I used the CM instructions. I guess if the recovery you are using will flash from the external card you are good. It could be that this was not a capability when the CM instructions were created.

Which method did you use?

What do you mean by optimize? Are you having issues?

You can play with the scheduler and governor to suit your style a little better.
