[Q] Installing Debian Possible Someday?

It seems from a quick look here, that installing debian isn't possible until the device can be rooted and the bootloader modified.

Given the track record with Asus's Android devices, does it look like it will eventually happen? If so, how much of the hardware is likely to be supported in debian, and specifically, will the touch screen still be usable?

I really like the hardware on this machine, but I'll need a full out OS to pull the trigger on getting one, and in the high-res screen computer category, there are slim pickings. Dell with the lousy keyboard, Lenovo with screen colour problems, and Samsung and Apple with very expensive price points.

The TF700 has had a few distros working but none with touch screen working. Its more of a hack. I wouldn't get your hopes up of a working Linux solution anytime soon.

In really hopping things have changed since this last reply. I would love this while being an amateur programmer.
