1. In TitaniumBackup press menu, then press preferences under the general section.
2. Next, under backup protection settings, press backup folder location.
3. When the new menu appears, press back to get to a file browser. It should say something like /storage/emulated/0 for the path.
4. Press back again and then select legacy, so the path is now /storage/emulated/legacy
5. Then scroll to your TitaniumBackup folder and select it.
6. Then press use the current folder, and press yes when the popup appears.

Then try doing your normal backup procedure.

@ tobymacfreak- I don't get a legacy choice. I only get my external sd card choice- I changed externalsd to R/W-rebooted, still getting insufficient storage space.

*****************************************************************

I also formatted my sd card in my computer- fat 32- and copied back my info from backup. Still the same message. BU interrupted due to insufficient space.

I checked with root explorer that the card is r/w, but according to titBU, that folder is not writeable- /storage/estSdCard/titBU

I just read that the 4.3 update and the 4.4.2 kitkat update broke the ability to write on the ext. sd card, Changing the r/o to r/w in root explorer does not fix the ability for titBU to write to the ext sd card. The fixes above are not even available to me. Is there another way to fix this "broken" kit kat ext SD to make it writable? I cn change it to storage or sd1 internal storage to BU, but it uses up so much space I want to BU to my 64 gb ext sd card.

For anyone having this problem- This fixed it- a simple app from the app store- IF you are rooted!

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix

Install, follow the prompts, reboot, and I am now using titBU to BU my apps to my Ext. Card!;)

I wish this break of function was a little more well known. It would have saved me a huge headache and time. But that's how you learn I guess.

If I have helped you, please hit my thanks!:D

This worked for me too, after trying different fixes that didn't work. This was the one that did it straight away, so thank you!

For me worked moving TB to system/apps with lucky patcher. Just move it to system via Lucky Patcher, reboot the device and works flawlessly.

Why not just configure TB to backup to the physical SD card? The TB program and data (6.2.0) are only a little over 10MB (see screenshot) but the backup directory is much larger than that.

I've got TB installed as a user app but I'm backing up to my "external" SD card with no issues.

The answer is simple. I don't have a phone with physical sd card slot :D :)

Not a single reply for the past 2 months - I guess I'm the only one left with this nasty error message.
I tried EVERY single solution posted in this thread and still nothing. And I'm with these things for a long time, so I know what I'm doing.
I'm able to backup my sms and call logs to an xml file to the TB backup folder, but apps backup, and restore from nandroid no longer work.
If only I really did something that offended TB, but it just refused doing backups out of the blue.
Other apps write to the same folder without a problem, and even TB can save those mentioned xml files, so why not apps too?!
I'm really getting pissed off, it's been 2 hours since I started to fix this problem, and still no solution...
