I very stupidly followed this guide to restore my old Kindle Fire HD 2nd Generation to stock (androidcowboy.com/2013/06/how-to-return-kindle-fire-hd-to-stock/), without checking that it was actually for the 2nd generation Kindle Fire HD.

All in all, I've just gone from a perfectly working device with firefirefire and a (rather slow) Lollipop ROM (Beanstalk), to a (seemingly) bricked device.
The flash seems to have replaced everything (although I selected the first option in KFHD Restore Tool), including firefirefire, and now the device is in a constant boot loop:

The device isn't responding to anything on USB, no button combinations (except turning on/off/reset), nothing.
I know there's a way to force it into fastboot mode since I've done it before with a button combination, but perhaps that was that with firefirefire, which was wiped (when I didn't tell the KFHD Restore Tool to - only told it to wipe and install the system and not touch the recovery, hmm...).
Was thinking about the possibility of forcing fastboot with a fastboot cable, but I haven't found any evidence the fastboot cable works with KFHD 2nd generation.

Is this well and truely the end for this device?
