I have a mere budget of 250 usd ie 15000 inr ... is it yet worth buying the google nexus one,? or would you suggest some other1 below 250$ ?

imho No. that too 250usd for nexus one which is almost 2½ year old phone. surely nooo. i think u can find something better for 15k inr

I wouldn't pick up a N1 at this stage.

Don't get me wrong, I still like mine alot but its 2.5 years old now. There has to be better phones out there you can pick up for $200 or so.

man its really a tough question. its not jus lyk choosing a Nokia phone in the past. u gotta choose according to ur needs
since u r from india. i would suggest you to use www.phonecurry.com to filter out and find the phome for ur need

Because Galaxy S isn't a good choice of a phone, with the main shortcomings being:
1) Crappy GPS (more or less slow fixation time, high positioning error).
2) Slow internal memory (EXT4 and other lagfix types don't help, it's just slow).
3) Flashing unfriendliness (stupid Samsung thing of sticking recovery into kernel).

Today there are much better options.

And why does official CM support matter? I'd say that for actual phone usage it's much more important to get one of the good overlays - whether HTC Sense or Samsung TouchWiz 4 (because 3 is slow). Bare Android is far from being sufficient for many use cases.
