From what I've read, it seems achieving s-off with a new GPE M8 is fairly difficult (i.e. firewater / sunshine will not work).
The more I've thought about it, it's unclear to me the benefits of bothering with s-off for a GPE version of the phone. I can already root, flash custom roms, and use RUUs that are made for my version of the phone if anything goes wrong (i.e. the one that matches the CID and MID of the device).
Am I missing some other advantage of S-Off?
