I have an HD2 that I've used Mango on, and I do have to say that I enjoy it. But I always seem to find posts cropping up that the DVP is old, and that is just isn't that good anymore, and that you shouldn't spend the money on it unlocked or on contract. I realize that the hardware in the DVP is dated, and would be a "sidegrade" from my HD2, but the main appeal I have for it is that I want to get off the 80 dollar contracted plan on T-Mobile, and use their 60 dollar unlimited talk, text, and data plan on an unsubsidized phone.
The T-Mobile DVP can be found for 240$ bucks new right now...so I mean, what's really the big deal? I think that's a fair price considering the storage you get(8GB) and the premium build of the handset. Is the battery life decent with Mango now?
More reasons that I just happen to be attracted to the DVP include that it has a reasonably large screen with a keyboard. Most unlocked handsets are typically 3.7, 3.8, which don't get me wrong I'm sure there is a great market for those sizes, but I just find that anything less than 4.0 is too small. And the unlocked Titans are overly expensive in my personal opinion. Considering the Lumia will be AT&T exclusive...well that's just another problem. AT&T charges more and you get less than with a carrier such as T-Mobile.
