[Q] Is There a Way to Turn Off Animated GIF in Signatures?

I would like to hide or turn off signatures with animated gifs in posts. This seems to be getting out of hand. Very annoying, distracting and have be putting a load on the forum servers. Is there a setting? I know I can use AdBlock+ and choose to hide image but that hides the site ads.

+1 here. I turned it off gifs and images in my options, but it keeps going anyway. . VERY distracting. I guess some people wish to be flashing stuff at you all the time, but I can't read the thread due to all the flashing, moving crap. The noise is drowning out the signal.

This guy is the one that makes me wish for a solution:
