[Q] Is there any way to fool stock recovery to re-flash ota firmware on Xperia S?

Please unzip it and then replace the file (of same name) in the 'stuff' directory of bin4ry's tool.

still stuck saying the same problem about vpn. and after reboot the terminal emulator doesnt show up..

BTW is it normal to get permission denied almost on all comands when using bin4ary's script?

Yeh I got some errors and kept going and it worked.

i was finally able to get a functional root... believe me, ive been to hell... how do you downgrade so easily? im confused on when to hold vol+ could you please tell me in detail how to do it. i tried doing it but i was stuck at sony logo. does that count as bootloop? is it normal to stay at sony logo for sometime? i was impatient to wait and redo the whole situation but it keeps getting stuck there

You have tab s or xperia? Cant remember lol. Although AIO install backdoor should work on both.
As for recovery should be able to turn off tab. Hold vol + and press power until tab is on and keep holdin vol+ until recovery menu

I mean what is the timing to wipe data after flashing the zip file? Im trying to flash 3.2.0 and I dont seem to get the tyming to wipe the data. It seems to be stuck at sony logo for about as 5mins or so I think. Wiping it means doing a factory reset via recovery right?

Yeh. Wipe it first then flash it multiple times. Remember there are two system partitions. It takes a few tries. If you can go to ICS R0 first then root and go down to HC from there

wait you mean you got to factory reset it first before updating? on Condi's thread it says you got to factory reset before the last third dot restart. im confused can you tell me how you do downgrading? i only downloaded the 3.2.0

Tried flashing standard 3.2.1R2 HC 0042.001.zip
Force recovery, not allow to boot into system
Reflash standard 3.2.1R2 HC 0042.001.zip
Got stuck on Sony logo
Forced off, held Power button
Turn Back on, took ages to boot and booted into ICS R5.

Grr WTF?

its because the touchscreen panel.. random touches on the lower buttons(back,home and recent apps) it used to work when i was still on hc 3.2.0. but is it possible to get from ICS r5 >r1>r0>HC?


everytime i flash HC i see touchscreen panel firmware updated. well.. thats the silver string im clinging on hoping to fix this darn problem

My tablet is with Sony getting fixed in Texas due to the bootloop. Supposed to get it back tomorrow... Low and behold.....R6 comes out.. like I said the moment I send it in a release will come out that I could flash and fix it myself.

On the bright side, they did replace my rear cover for the "splash-proof" issue.
