[Q] Kidigi HTC Sensation Sync & Charge Cradle with Second Battery Slot

Just got both KIDIGI DESKTOP DOCK and CAR DOCK (CM-HTSS).......

arrived promptly in one week.......

DESKTOP DOCK is very nice/excellent quality, The only PROBLEM I had was that it would work too well (little tabs on connector) in the dock when putting the phone in the dock or taking it off...

I used my dremel to shave down the little tabs on the USB connector

STRONGLY RECOMEND SHAVING THE LITTLE TABS ON THE USB CONNECTOR...

ALSO the desktop dock would be ideal if it had more weight in the base...
( I am going to try to add fishing weights to it)

CAR DOCK ( CM-HTSS)....is not the same feel as the dock, it is a softer feeling plastic. I guess to prevent scratches.. but I dont like the design shape. the base part has an awkwardly large area.. And its not like the desktop dock, where u just drop it in....U have to put the phone in the base/dock then plug into the side of the phone.....

I will buy the other car dock (CM2-HTSS) when it comes out.....

Does the dock mode app come on when you dock it?

I see that you want to try to weigh it down, Can you unscrew the bottom and put weights inside?

2) YES it takes longer to charge because they provide a 500ma charger.
BUT I USE the HTC CHARGER (1 AMP OR 1000 MILLIAMP) SO IT CHARGES QUICKER...

3) NO RED LIGHT: only have blue..cause I have dock without battery charger... if u get battery charger dock then u have blue and red light

4) DOCK MODE does NOT start when placed in cradle........

MODS I HAVE DONE TO DOCK..
1) lowered brightness of blue light (it was to bright at night), I did this by moving the light over to spot were red light would be if i had other dock...hence moving the led away from tiny window opening on dock.

2) added 3 weights, one from old g1 dock and 2 lead fishing weights. i hot glued them down so they wouldn't rattle....

3) shaved off little tabs on usb connector. so phone slides in and out smoother....

I preordered this sucker when this was first offered. It says 7 days for me, but I am in the US. I'll post as well once I get it in any case.

Actually I cancelled my order because of the issue of my cases not fitting in the dock with the phone. I have a portrait one on order from a fabricator that makes custom docks for the Incredible and Thunderbolt, craigsdocks.com.

I am looking for the landscape model of the kidigi car cradle dock. The one that's on kidigis website. Can't find it anywhere. The one 4u has does it turn sideways? Because for navigation I would like landscape mode

CM-HTSS car dock, does turn to its side, but because the base is big/long, makes it a very strange car dock. Not well designed....

EDIT: Just noticed your second post states you want the landscape version. I don't think it's available yet or it would be listed under the link above. Keep watching that link. That is Kidigi's online store site so when something becomes available, it'll be on there first.

Tasker should do this for you. You can set it up to open dockmode when it is plugged in. This will cause it to start any time the power is plugged in, so you may have to add another variable. I don't have my dock yet, but I am planning to set it to open the dockmode when my home wifi is connected and it is plugged in.

There's no dock sensor like the moto droids do. I got dock mode to pop, what I did was, I used a diod, connected one end to eaither the d- or d+ wire and grounded the other end of the diode.. but the thing is it works just once and wen u in dock it then dock the phone again it don't work after, you would have to unground then reground to activate the dock mode.. ill get a video to show later...

It's not to hard to do, I like doing the diy stuff.. eliminate one step, dock Ur phone and your done, no need to tap an icon..

I totally understand the DIYers! Used to be one myself, just to see if I could do it. I think I'm getting lazy in my old age! Seems the older I get, the more I just want stuff to work out of the box, no modifications.

Anyways, got my ship notification for my dock. Says 10-18 business days for delivery. Might be on my next phone by then...

• only a port ... either USB on the PC or directly on power
• Dockmodus opens unfortunately does not automatically but it works battery slot i can not yet test, who is to come a little later from Hong Kong
• can be easily attach and remove USB cable a little to short
• price: 16.23 EUR for mugen power batteries
