[Q] kies keep telleing my csc is (xxx) and can't update my phone ?

i have a note 2 gt-n7100 international (i think ) unlocked i have stock recovery never installed any custom one ...

i tried a call recording mod but by changing phonesec.odex manually .. no big deal happened but some random call drops happened so i wanted to get back to original rom to just stay on the safe side . i didn't want to keep download my stock firmware from kies every time so i tried odin one

downloaded (N7100XXDMB5 N7100OJVDMB1- Download - United Arab Emirates) from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696)

now after that every time i connect to kies it says my firmware verson with (afr) csc and that i can't update
i read somewhere that it's an efs problem so i restored my efs backup .. after that the csc in kies became (xxx)

tried galaxy s/s2/s3 csc changer in the upper part it says my csc is xsg tried xsg and afr and arp .. but nothing worked still (xxx) and i can't update

tried phone upgrade and initializing .. worked but still (xxx)

any ideas how to help ..

Yeah your csc is still older (afr) not updated with UAE rom you have flashed.
Do one thing flash same rom file with csc tab instead of pda, this may erase data so first backup your important data.

i flashed the uae using pc oding thrugh the csc tapped (as u suggested) still no luck with kis i have attached image

now phone says

AP : N7100XXDMB5

CP : N7100XXDLK7

CSC : N7100JVDMB1

i read some where that the problem is related to having a rom not compatible with the csc ...

then how do i know if they r compatible or not ??

and the rom file contain the phone csc and modem so they should be compatible ....

Your csc is corrected but I doubt if anything wrong with Baseband.
Can you give me name of tar.md5 file which you getting by extracting zip of uae rom
And which country you are living?

this is the name of the file (( N7100XXDMB5_N7100OJVDMB1_N7100XXDLK7_HOME.tar ))
and there is another file in the folder (( SS_DL.dll ))

and i live in egypt a bought the phone from oman ad using it in egypt ever since .. i updated the firmware twice (can't remember the first time but the second time i think was from dmb2 to dmb1 ) using kies and there where no prob .

Baseband seems ok
Anyway reboot to recovery(Vol up +home +power) and you will find....... Csc applied successfully
Give me details which csc it applies in recovery.
Do fast its 1.30am

That is issue, your applied csc is not uae and that why getting error, wait I try to find your csc

Basically arb is code for Arab amirat uae, but unbranded uae rom usually having xsg code
Your issue is your device applying arb code. I cudn't find out any rom having arb csc code.
Do one thing wipe completely and Reflash uae rom, still you have same csc in recover will try changing csc

if i try the firmware upgrade and initialize from kies will that download the right one ??? as it uses the phone s/n ??



what do u suggest try the kies first or the cwm ?? can i use mobile odin for this ???

Really issue you are facing is weired, i have seen 1-2 cases was never been sorted by any means. Theoretical kies initialization way should work, but unfortunately for one user that was also not worked.
I think that user was mandeep. You may find his post in android india thread in general section.

done flashing i am still on the ARP csc .... i will try the kies way and i will try older uae rom and i will tell you what happened


i can assure u that u have beeen MORE MORE Than helpful for me and i wish there where more people like you .. i have 1 mgb connection so downloading other roms will talk time .... i think thats is enough for 2day ..THANK YOU
