I've got the same problem with my LG G Watch R. I've had this problem for months now. Anyone know how to fix it? I can't even get into the bootloader because nothing happens when I swipe from 11 to 5, or 10 to 4.

LG won't even let me return it because I lost the receipt. :(

Have faith my friends,
I had the same problem with my watch, and it came back to life.
I don't know if this is the best way to get it fixed but I did the following :
First, Uninstall all wear apps as recommended, then I started to factory reset via recovery a lot of times while the watch is in the charger, But got the same "shooting down" problem as usual.
I put the watch in the charger for 24 hours and took it off, leaving it to cool down for few hours (it was very hot when I took it out).
Then I turned it on out of the charger and it got into pairing mode, did the process as usual unchecking fit and location option at the beginning, and when it got into app update the watch reset after every app, but got back on by itself to update the next one (in this part i returned the watch back to the charger.
In the end, the watch got back to work properly, 5.1.1 version as well...

Hopefully this process will work for others.

Watch unresponsive except for blinking battery icon

Hi guys,

I solved my issue by plugging my G Watch´s charging cradle to my LG G3´s charger...you might want to try another charger as well.

Best regards.

Hello, try to keep it 5 minutes in the fridge (i keep it in a plastic bag although it's IP67 and should be ok with condensating... ) mine does boot correctly after that, also it enters fastboot (so touch works ok after all), i managed to flash some stock roms, i paired it with phone, changed some watch faces etc... BUT unfortunately after a few minutes (starts warming ???) it freezes.

If the "5 minutes in the fridge" works for you, maybe it's an overheating problem ?
maybe we'll consider moving to Antarctica :)

Same problem no fix yet

Mine is doing exactly as described by some on this thread and others. On charger over the last three days with many cables and plugs in outlets, hubs, and on laptop (as per many other forum recommendations I've tried them all). 98% time LG icon, and will loop through that hundreds of times. 2% of the time spinning colored dots an circles, and 1% goes to installing apps X out of XX. If left there a long time will get very hot. Seems like the root cause is if it runs out of power while doing these installs/upgrades of apps, it is't booting up enough to charge and isn't charged enough to boot. Swiping 11-to-5 can get boot menu and stay there for even up to a minute without dying, but doing any of the menu options (reset, bootload, fast load) it will die at the LG logo. This happened to me one about 6 months ago exactly as described and at some point it just worked, I never knew how it solved itself. Might be trying to boot but needs more battery to boot... who knows.

Cant even get it to turn on.

The haptic vibe goes nuts when i hold the crown, and when i place it on the dock it gives me a little wiggle. But cannot get anything on the display at all. Even tried disconnecting the batter for 24 hrs and trying over. nothing. Is there anyway to force a DL mode? like a usb jig or something. Its basically a brick and i cant use it at all :\

I have an even worse problem, i managed to start my watch up, set it up and everything. However, the moment I remove the watch off the charging cradle, the watch just shuts off immediately. I should think it's not exactly a battery issue as when it's off the cradle, I can turn it on, LG logo pops up, then the watch blacks out again. I booted my watch into bootloader mode, and could leave it there the whole day. Totally doesn't make sense at all!

I'm getting frustrated and totally want to just buy an old moto 360.

- fixed - apparently i need to charge past that 21% mark by alternate cooling and charging after flashing stock 5.11

I'm getting something similar to this.

So when I put the watch on the charger, it shows the battery icon with the lightning bolt for a second, then it vanishes. I have to hold the watch firmly to the cradle or else the lightning bolt will not appear. OR if the lightning bolt charging icon is on, after a minute or two, it will start flashing, and then eventually turn off.

I was able to attempt the recovery process, however I got as far as it booting with the google balls flying around the screen, however it lost connection to the cradle and turned off again.

The watch has been on the charger all day today because this morning it would not come on, so it SHOULD have a full charge. Obviously I cannot tell if it does or not because it will not turn on fully.

I've had to try to drain it out it seems and start from scratch, it might be working now.

Got my watch fixed

Hi!

First, sorry for my bad English.
I was pretty much with the same problem described here, sought the solution in the forum and nothing worked.
My watch was dead, and when placed in the charger dock, it just start blinking quickly the image of a full battery charging.

So, I decided to open the watch to see if there was any flatcable problem or something else. I found then an area with oxidation, although it is IP67 certified, appears that water has entered through the central hole.

After thoroughly clean the oxidized part, the watch returned to life!!! :D:D:D:D:D
Here, the picture of the oxidation area (after cleaning)

And here a link that explains how to open the watch.

Thanks to all! I hope it could help.

FIXED!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU!

I had gone swimming with my G Watch R (long night, lots of drinking) which killed the watch.
Dried it out in a bag of rice for a couple days. Only was able to get intermittent battery icon.

Read the shakansis post and opened the watch up. Oxidation everywhere.
Cleaned off oxidation (toothbrush and 91% alcohol) and voila... WATCH IS WORKING!

THANKS AGAIN SHAKANSIS!!!

Not turning on without charger lg urbane.

When i plug with charger it turns on but if i unplug it turn off automatically. I reset everything couple of time. I thought its a battery problem but when i go recovery with charger and unplug the charger it runs with battery backup. When i select rebot now it shut down automatically and never run until i plug charger. I dont know what should i do. I tried to go back on 1.5 from 2.0. But there is no official way.
