I have a problem with a Lumia 800 - I think it's a deep discharge problem. The battery doesn't charge, but phone does get warm while charging. When I do a soft reset it vibrates - and a few seconds later vibrates a 2nd time (I guess to signal power off). There is no display at all. When I connect to a PC it sometimes reports a HID device - for a about 2-3 Seconds - then it's again dead.

Now my question: can I take out the battery and directly connect 3.8V to the phone? I have a powersupply and multimeter at hand at hand. My options are:

1. - Connect 3.8V with a lab-powersupply to the phone and install the latest software updates

2. - Find another phone with 3.8V Lithium cell and charge the battery with that charger. (I also got a IMAX B6 LiPo/Li-ion charger used for models )

Option 2 feels more comfortable. If a voltage pins slips off while installing the software I may brick the phone.

Any comments? Or any other method to get out of the deep discharge loop?

Can you disassembly phone, remove battery from phone and charge it with external powersupply. I used this method because mine motherboard haven't connector microusb for charger battery and this method work.
My external usb charger is 5v @ 2 Ah. if you wont disassembly the phone, you can use a other powersupply with more Ah because nokia is 700-800mAh
