OK so i have been a crack flasher since release day of ICS. But i am to the point the only reason i really need root was restoring apps with TiBu. I was excited to hear about Marshmellow having an opt out data restore process. However i have never gotten it to work. Literally no app has its data restored. It basically installed the apps and it did remember my stock launcher layout.
Can anyone shed any light on what is going on?

After reading this http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/10/android-6-0-marshmallow-thoroughly-reviewed/6/
I understand how it works a little better. As i am completely stock and have manually configured some apps i do have some app data in the google drive/settings/manage backup. However still not everything. Which means once again if it doesn't get what i want i am having to root and use TiBu.

It appears to be quite an incomplete list.

I have nothing in Google drive settings, even though backup is on.

Not sure what to tell you. While they made this sound like a perfect solution it is just as hacky as everything else they provided so far.
I wonder if its an API level thing on the apps that are not showing up?

Yes it is odd. as when I had to do a wipe and restore on the M preview more if not all of my apps had their settings restored. Moving to the official version with a clean flash and I got the same thing, just instagram restored.
