I've rooted my droid phones for years. This is the first one that ran good enough that I never ended up doing root. Now that it's been out a long time, what is the most simple and safe root method so I can use titanium backup? I'm not interested in custom ROMs, kernels, and the other stuff now a days. Too addictive [emoji13]

I know that towelroot is a one click rite from your device so no need for a pc. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2790108 Give this a once over and see if it sounds like something you might wanna try. If not you can always go with chainfire and odin http://www.xda-developers.com/tag/chainfire/

I appreciate the link and see you wrote it. However that is way over 90% of the users head I would think. I found it was super easy by following the 8 steps here:

Download CF-Auto-Root package and extract the zip: CF-Auto-Root-hltespr-hltespr-smn900p.zip
Enable USB Debugging again.
Boot the phone into Download Mode.
Launch Odin.
Connect phone to computer.
Click AP and select CF-Auto-Root-hltespr-hltespr-smn900p.tar.md5.
Hit the Start button.
You’ll get PASS! message on Odin and your phone will reboot automatically.
