[Q] [Moto X XT1060] Issues with WiFi and Bluetooth.

I Have XT 1058 device and I've got same WiFI issues(4.4.2). In my /persist folder have:

Prov(folder)
usf(folder)

.bt_nv.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv_calibration_persist.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv_regulatory_persist.bin

The problem is, the last 2 files in the list, have a size of 0.00 B
I Have replaced them with the files provided from samwathegreat(and following the -rw-r--r-- permissions), but when i restart or shutdown, the files appears as if i haven´t done any change (0.00 B Size again)

I also replace WCNSS Files(except cfg.dat and cfg.ini) on system/etc/firmware/wlan/prima with the ones provided, 3 of them had 0.00 Size, but fortunately the changes persists after reboots or shuwtdown.

I have exactly the same problem and did like you do, but nothing changes. i've changed one by one the files, and i've changed permissions. If someone can give us a clue, would be really apreciated.

I'm still with the WiFi issues, try to connect some 5Ghz Network, at least i can. I'll keep trying with WCNSS Files and i'll post here if i find the solution

can you post the step by step of this procedure and what need to be downloaded. because i'm have same problems and i'm newbie of doing this. I did root my moto x by looking the youtube.

All files missing

Well, first you will need to use a file manager to look inside the persist folder, which is located in the root directory. You must have these 4 files:
.bt_nv.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv_calibration_persist.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv_regulatory_persist.bin

If they are there, you should be fine. If you still have a problem, then this solution is not for you.

hey i read all your comments and replies i found that my moto x xt1052 doesnt have single file of the 4 you mentioned . i could manage downloading the WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin file but i am unable to find the rest of the files. It would be really helpful of you if you could provide me with the link to those files

You only have 3 files??? Because my X has 4 files:

.bt_nv.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv_calibration_persist.bin
WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv_regulatory_persist.bin

Just as I had said in my very first reply, you are missing WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin

Download the file, and place JUST the missing file back in /persist

The permissions should be: rw-r--r-- (permissions must be set correctly)

Does WiFi work now??

Followed the procedure and flashed a new stock 5.1 ROM for a moto X and it worked fine ! After a hard brick it had only two linked files on /persist. Bluetooth and wifi were dead with no MAC addresses.

I have the same problem en I already check the /persist folder and it's OK
The weir thing is tha every time I change my rom in the 4th try the wifi and blutooth works but jut for simething like a 2 hours. I still haven´t found the solution for me and dont want to sell my moto X I like it .

Hi, my wi-fi and bluetooth had a slow death now they dont turn on, I'm hoping it has do do with this persist folder, I'm rooted and unlocked, installed Root Browser, yet i can't find the persist folder, is persist the same as the home folder? if that's so i don't see the files and i got a bunch of folders like for example: /mnt, /proc, /root, /sbin, /sys, /system, etc... i tried copying the folder called persist and it says it already exists..
what is going on? show hidden files is turned on.

hey guys, i have the same problem with my xt1052... maybe someone knows a solution right now because it is driving me mad!

i also tried to replace the WCNSS files on my phone, same problem appears: they get replaced with the 0.0kb files on boot... even stranger thing is i can't even see the /persist folder from the start, i always have to create a new folder named "persist" and then the real one shows up with the right contents, but mostly 0.0kb files... it is driving me mad!

anyone still having ideas how to solve this?

I'm on 5.1 stock XT1053. Did a clean install from 4.4.4 when I started having the issue with WiFi not switching on. Now, I'm unable to root my phone. Get a message saying SU Binary was not found. The strangest thing is when I use TWRP to browse my files, I can't seem to find a /persist folder. My WiFi and Bluetooth will not switch on.

The problem is highlighted in red. You have somehow erased your WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin file.

You will need to get these files from another user, and place it in your /persist folder. This is the only way wifi and bluetooth will ever work for you.

Pretty sure I am having the exact same issue.
My files are 0 KB as well.

Can someone please upload the same files in the persist folder for XT1052?

Well that is an issue with your particular WiFi, not with drivers.
I am completely unable to turn on my WiFi. The on button flicks back to off instantly.


Speaking of my issue, here is the logcat, it says unable to load drivers. No file name is mentioned.
I have attached the logcat as a screenshot, can someone please take a look at it?

Also the two files in the '/persist' folder are linking to another file in '/system' with the same name.
Screenshot of that is attached as well.

@FleetPhone since you've also got the xt1060, you mind taking a copy of your Perist folder and uploading it. I'm having the same issue and tried Samwathegreat's method but it doesn't work. Perhaps if i try replacing the whole folder with yours it might just work. Otherwise I'm certain its a wifi module that's fried. Thanks

but i have make a mistake but deletiing all the files of prema by using root explorer, first the wifi and bloutouth didnt work, i have find ((WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin)) and the bltoutouh is working again but no wifii
i am unsing 4.3 android in xperia sp please help meee

I have the same problem and i had installed the root browser but can't find the persist folder kindly tell me the path of the folder and to do the permissions in the device kindly reply with the proper paths. I am using lolipoop 5.1 version .
