Hi

Bit of a puzzle for you.

On Friday I connected my tf101 to my Win7 laptop for the first time. It installed drivers and voila I had MTP access and was able to add files etc over the cable - I was well pleased.

Last night I connected again and .......... nothing. Well not nothing, the tf101 shows up in printers and devices, but doesn't show up in device manager or the 'my computer' screen. Plus the notification on the tablet about USB debugging was enabled. I deleted the device from my laptop and plugged in again and drivers were installed and the result was just the same - no MTP.

I then tried connecting to my OH's windows 7 computer, and it installed drivers immediately and I was rubbing my hands together with glee thinking it was working - and ....................... nothing, The same scenario as my own laptop.

I thought of the lead but the lead is charging it fine and the laptop does see the tablet as it shows up in printers and devices.

So, I know you guys must have an answer to this or ideas for me to try so I'm thanking you in advance for your help.

By the way the little hint at the top of this page - I
f this is a development project, please use DevDB instead of this new thread form.
is of no use to me because I am not allowed to post on the DEV thread yet.

Are you on a custom ROM? I think KatKiss?

Try this - Settings - Storage - menu key - USB Connection - Tick MTP device. See if that helps. If that does not work, try PTP. THis will make it look like a camera and it should still allow access to the internal storage to copy files.

I have better luck with PTP connection myself.

Ha Ha - just logged in to say I had resolved the issue by doing just what you have said above Frederuco, tested it and connected straightaway. Thanks for your help though, if I hadn't sorted it you would have for sure!! - great minds and all that!

How did that little Connect as MTP box become unticked though.

(Hope my sig works)
