Heres the deal.
Rooted through odin, everything was fine phone was running great
Decided to flash a new rom (ive flashed hundreds on other devices but my first on a samsung)
Flashed the rom and got a boot loop so crap i reflash back to stock bc i could only be in bootloop or download mode for some reason.

Once back in stock rooted rom everything worked normal except my sim card is no longer recognized. All the research i have done shows its probably an esf file problem? (wen i try to pull up the imei through dialer it says null/null)
tried every recovery method i could find but now my eyes hurt

there is an esf folder but nothing in it :/ shoulda researched before flashing on a new brand of phone to know what to back up...but i was cocky and thought i knew everything haha

Fingers crossed someone can help me as that is the only phone i have :(

Is it done for? 10+ hours of research and i got nada o wise xda help a brutha out

I've heard people say that when they took their sim card out, put it in another phone then put it back in, it recognizes it again. Sorry I haven't had this problem myself. Hopefully someone will chime in who's had this issue.

Im telling you we aren't starting from scratch here....
No sim works in this phone, my sim (i got a new one just in case before posting this thread) works in all phones except mine hah
Its not gonna be a problem with the sim or the contact prongs both have been checked over and over

hmmm whats our next step

What was this new ROM you flashed that bootlooped?

Flashing a rom or back to stock does not touch the efs folder. Plus, it would recreate the missing files on the first boot and give you a generic IMEI.

Try downgrading to stock gingerbread and seeing if it comes back.

If all else fails, then go check out mobiletechvideos. Josh is a XDA member (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1602851) and has helped me with my Captivate in the past. Great service and a great way to support a fellow XDA.

Have you tried checking to see that the SIM slot isn't damaged in any visible way?

Is it possible something happened to your sim card? I'm just spit balling here I've never had this issue.
He said hiss SIM works in utter phones just not his. And,I believe, no SIM works uh hiss phone. I think it's a phone issue. I'm also a couple deep and things don't quite make sense...
