[Q] Need help to Root MTK6573 A9220 phone

Can anyone advise is there a custom Rom for A9220 MTK6575? I know there is one for MTK6573 and it stress that only for MTK6573.

Thank you for your contributions to the forum, I'm New Here, a few days ago I started researching how to fix the phone of my son, it was very difficult, i was about to give up thanks to your contributions I understood that this is a A9220 1GB.
Now I have the same problem described in post #232, I hope you can help me with some clue to solve the problem, thank you very much.

Detailed steps performed:
I started with the first 2 steps from post # 58

1rst Step
here is 1gb custom recovery:

Use SP flash tool, load the scatter file, make sure you only tick recovery and choose the img file ... remove battery and usb cable, press download on SP flash tool ... insert battery .. then insert usb cable (you have 15 sec to do this) ... once it finish, remove and reinsert battery, hold Vol up + power to boot into recovery

2nd Step
Now you can flash the uniroot2.signed.zip to root it xxxxx

After done helping several people through PM, I will now share the files needed for reviving 1gb A9220 device. Do not use these files on 512mb device. You've been warned.

*Point 1 does not perform according to your recommendation

1) 1gb device uboot - flash this via SP flashtool (only for A9220 1GB device - do not attempt to use on other model eg : i9220 - have different LCM/Camera setting)
2) 1gb modded recovery - flash this via SP flashtool (Already Done in the post #58)
3) Pre-rooted System image - Flash via mod recovery (Installation OK)

Note : If your phone is working, DO NOT flash uboot.img EVER!

uboot.img is only needed if you wrongly flash it before and got distorted/blank screen. If your device is working, just flash the mod recovery to use the Pre-rooted system.zip image.

Copy the pre-rooted system.zip into sdcard and make sure to disable verification before selecting the new system zip. After disable verification, proceed with install zip file.

I also have the same phone model as yours and did exactly the same as per your instruction that is using the rooted system.img and recovery.img in your attachment.But one big mistake is that the folder also contained boot.img and i didn't noticed that option was also checked .The flashing went well. When its done, when I booted my phone it just got stuck at the initial blue android logo.. what should I do.. really need and appreciate your kind help.

In the first line I said It is for A9220 MTK6573 Model Phone ONLY. Don't flash if this is not your phone.

In case, if you lost your original boot.img and recovery.img, Pls flash this files and recover your lost phone.

Actually rooting this phone is difficult part. We have to try again and again with superoneclick.

I have added motofail exploit with this.


Tricky part is rooting this phone with SuperOneClick

When superoneclick hangs on 7th step, do as per below instruction.

1. goto phone settings->applications->development->USB debugging uncheck it and recheck it again.

2. now click root again.

If not works, try a couple of time, again and again. you will succeed.

In this method, I have rooted lot of times.

Thats all, your phone will be rooted now, have fun.

I tried to use superoneclick v2.3.3.3.0 but getting suck at 7th stage and i tried using the steps provided but nothin happes at all. one thing more i would like to tell is that as soon as i click the root there appears a request to install the drivers and as i try to install them it says no data available and then then the process starts and stops at 7th stage and nothing else. can you provide any other way. preferably a way where system is not required and can be done using the phone itself.

Hello i have my china tablet i was try to use MtkDroidTools and my boot.img is mas up not it has stuck at boot logo now i am trying to connect my china tablet to PC its just connecting and loosing connect in devices manager Ports (COM & LTP) Mediatek Driver every thing is current installed
