[Q] Network drops sometimes

I checked your first link. The posters there say that the problem was resolved by the updates to KK 4.4 and the update to the firmware. I have both of these updates. Neither solved the problem.

My phone has never "dropped" a call. Just occasionally stops making or receiving them.

My phone has lost the network connections [both calls and mobile data] while i am in a very strong LTE area.

Other users are posting that once the signal is lost/falls in the dead spot region, it doesn't come back a automatically. I have not had that experience. I often go to a dead region and when i come out the signal does not get lost, no need to re-start the phone.

Seems like others have a similar issue but not the same.
I think it's the same problem, check the second link.
My phone also never dropped a call.

A few days ago again i had contact with my phone-provider, and the send me over a new simcard, tested it for one day and i got the problem again. I also called the technical service center who 'repaired' my phone , and they said they change some components, but the couldn't say which components.. :S

Anybody any idea how to deal with this problem ?

Ok, a couple of months went on, and the problem still exists..
Turned my phone in to customer service (repair-service) for the second time, and when i got the phone back after 3 weeks , the first day i started using it, the (network) connection drops again..
In the meantime I upgraded my phone software from Android 4.2.2 to 4.4.2, hoping this would fix some things without rooting the phone (and changing ROM), unfortunately it did nothing. Also with 4.4.2 I got the network drops again. So i called my provider again (10th time) , which is TELE2 NL, and they said that recently a lot of customers, using the galaxy s4mini, are complaining about this kind of network problem. They said they contacted Samsung about it, and Samsung told them that the problem was probably due to the combination of Samsung firmware together with the TELE2 network....they also said samsung was working on a fix.

Now my question: when i install another ROM (Knox warranty is already voided) , like cyanogenmod , most likely fix this problem for me , or will the problem still exists ?
Cause when upgrading from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2, the problem still remains. In other words, in what part of the software from the phone is this network dropping problem probably based ?

Thanks in Advance.

It continues to amaze me, the complete lack of interest by members of this forum in this very perplexing technical problem. Not even one comment in either of these two threads.

The problem lies in firmware thats why there is no one except samsung that can fix it .... several people said they get better signal in cyanogenmod but i didnt see any drawbacks ...

Sent from my GT-I9192 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Can you maybe specifik the word 'firmware' for this case ? i mean i know what firmware means but when changing the ROM on my phone, am i not changing the firmware ?
What part from the phone is called the firmware then ? Modem/baseband, kernel, ROM, or the samsung software part in the ROM maybe ? In case of this last one, changing to for example cyanogenmod could maybe solve the problem, right ?

Ok, but then i still don't get if i CAN fix this problem by changing ROM :eek: ?!
Or Cant i ?
Or else...how is this software part updated ? By a normal samsung OTA update, why isnt there any alternative RIL then ?
I'm thinking of changing phone if this problem doesnt get solved quickly. I got network dropouts everyday like 10 times a day.
