[Q] New battery, phone gets faster?

Just purchased a new battery for my note, strangely after replacing the battery all the lag and slowness of the phone went away. It is as fast as when I first purchased it. My question is how does the battery affect the phone in terms of performance.?

shouldn't affect it at all honestly hell it dont even carry nfc permissions so it should just be a regular thing.

That's what I thought, but when I use the old battery it gets slower, it lags when I type and use the phone in general. None of that happens when I use the new battery. It's pretty weird, maybe a defective battery affects the phone performance wise? Irregular voltage levels or something?
