Just got confirmation that Asus has repaired my dock for the flex in the hinge and have shipped it back to me today - so will recieve it in 2 days so let's see what they did to fix it (or if they have just given me a new batch one)
Well of course I am very curious if they fixed it properly

Sent from my Asus Infinity TF700 with Dock

Well I got it back today! Guess what? Nothing has changed. They replaced the hinge according to the ticket notes and I have exactly the same flex as before...... I don't know whether to laugh or cry. So as far as I am concerned it doesn't matter which revision dock you get you will have some flex in the hinge.

I'll be fixing it myself later with some foam tape. :silly:  Thanks Asus!

Does the unfixed flex still include the disconnects? Or were you never plagued by those in the first place? Unfixed flex.... that's fun to say! Say it with me one time - Unfixed flex. And my first sentence rhymes! Quite possibly the most clever sentence I have ever accidentally written. You know, sometimes I amaze even myself. ;)

I know how you feel i remember this one time I caught my reflection in a spoon while I was eating my cereal, and I remember thinking "wow, you're ridiculously good looking"

back to being serious the best way to remove the flex is soome thick tape. i use duct tape, but i bought some of that fur tape in black from a sewing store.

going to put on soon.

thinking some both sides should make 0 flex

if you are seeing undock messages then send it back as the connector may be damaged from flex.

I dont get disconnects but like another member said if it keeps getting used like that sooner or latter there will.

You're a poet and you don't even know it ;)

No I never got disconnects. To cheer us all up I just unpacked the latest Asus update, repacked the kernel so it allows rooting and adb commands, inserted busy box, removed the Asus dial home apps and rooted it :)

Flashed it and it works fine :) :D

Will release it tomorrow now ;)

How long did your repair (haha) take? I'm RMAing mine off to Grapevine, TX tonight and am wondering how long it'll be till I get my tablet back.

I have the notorious glass fitting issue. There's a big gap along the right side of the tablet between the screen and aluminum backing. Asus chat support didn't recognize it as a known issue, but I assured them others have the same problem.

It took them approx 2 weeks.

What a company.
Sometimes I do really not understand their customer policies.
Do they really think they can throw everything at them?
At least you have no disconnection problem (for now.....)

On January 2015, I returned my tablet complaining about keyboard disconnections. They immediately changed the hinge (seems like it is a known issue). It seems now that there is less wobble and disconnections (but still some) (probably software issue).
