[Q] [NIGHTLY][ROM][4.1.1] CyanogenMod 10 captivate

Is it mandatory to Wipe data/Factory reset & wipe cache when it comes to upgrading to the latest nightly rom, Instead of just Upgrading over the previous build w/out wipe? Does the captivate run much smoother or seem more responsive? Just wanted to know if their is really an improvement in performance.

I'm Running 10/23 CM10 and it kind of lags compared to the first time I Wiped and installed CM10 from CM9.

There really isn't a need to wipe anything between builds. You can just flash the nightly build without worrying about anything else, however some users insist that it is better to wipe (kinda a pain...). You really shouldn't have to unless you want/need a fresh start.
