This phone has stock KK but the problem also happens with stock JB and always starts after application update.
Problem: Google Search box only works if factory app is running. Once you update to latest version on Play store (4.4.11.16), search stops to work. If choose to install 4.3.x version error remains- Version 4.2 and lower works fine.
What is not working?
You search for something and nothing is search and most of the time you can read: no Internet connection. However you are connected to some wifi spot and Internet is working fine.
Besides. Chrome, Firefox, etc, search also works. This is only related with Google search app.
I have test to uninstall and install, to clear cache. Nothing fixed it.
The only fix is to go back to factory version or install 4.2 or lower
But the factory/stock search is now almost two years old and I want to be able to update.
Any ideas?
